Cup of Excellence 2006 & 2009
Las Mercedes won the Cup of Excellence Presidential Award 2006 after obtaining an overall score of 94 points, which has been the highest score ever at all COE. In 2009 won six place with Finca La Avila Especial with 89.43 points demostrating again the good quality of the farm.

We are proud that our coffee farm is certified by Rain Forest Alliance since 2005, undergoing the mission of this organization to conserve ecosystems by protecting healthy soils, rivers and wildlife and promoting dignified living conditions for farm workers and neighboring rural communities.

Las Mercedes Coffee was part of the Coffee Klatch Coffee Roasters y PtS Coffee roasters award being them honored as MICRO AND MACRO ROASTERS OF THE YEAR the Coffee Klatch Coffee Roasters y PtS Coffee roasters.

Las Mercedes is selected for the SCAE World Cup tasting Championship.

In 2009 SCAE received fine coffees from all over the world in order to seek qualification for the World Cup Tasting Championship. SCAE states "We asked traceable quality oriented farms, traders and roasters to supply fine coffees that together would make triangles with comparable but different coffees. This year we have used both Arabica and Robusta." We are glad to announce Las Mercedes has been selected to participate in this championship.

Local recognitions
On October 2006 Mr. Roberto Ortiz Avalos received the recognition as the best coffee of the eastern area of the country, which was given by El Salvador vice president and the governor of Usulutan.
